Salt Creek (formerly The Auld Course), is San Diegos newest championship golf course. Nestled in the peaceful foothills of Mt. Miguel, the 280-acre layout is an ideal location for golf enthusiasts with its protected wildlife refuge surrounding the course and fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean. Designed by John Cook, the course features rolling hills, three lakes, seventy eight bunkers and acres of lush wetlands. The Salt Creek clubhouse features a full service Golf Shop, Bar & Grill as well as Banquet & Meeting space. The Bar and Grill serves lunch daily along with cocktails and hors doeuvres until sunset. The course includes a 50 station driving range, putting green and practice chipping green and sand bunkers.

Well, not really. No such a thing as the "Firth of Otay". The only water you will find at the foothills of Mount Miguel is in the form of three lakes and drainage channels in and around the wetlands of a protected wildlife reserve. But when you play this Salt Creek in east Chula Vista you WILL get that Scottish feeling of being on the links. It does bring a little piece of Scotland to Southern California, even if the sea water is somewhat far away and there is not one wind-swept sheep in sight.
